Run away for a few days

Now before I’m accused of disappearing again, I should inform you all that we’re away for ten days, trying to catch some winter sunshine in Cyprus. No bikes, just sun & chillng out. Behave ypurselves whilst I’m gone ..,

Now why were you looking in my direction when you started this post ?? I never said a word about you never being at home , and all ways staying in hostelries that are well stocked with alcaholic beverage (well well stocked on your arivel but very depleted on your departure )

Hope you all had a fab Christmas & New Year. Ours was pretty busy & we’re now packing for another trip away (a week in Gran Canaria). Then we’ll be on the countdown to our Florida trip, flying out on 21st February. Could someone order some warm & sunny weather, please. x

I'll see what I can do about the weather. You are definitely picking a good time, but things have been a little more unpredictable than normal this season.

Well back from Gran Canaria, unpacked & washing done so it must be time to fly off again ... Arriving Orlando Wednesday evening, can’t say I’m looking forward to the flight, 9+ hours of small children & young adults off to Disney *shudders.

Have a rough itinerary for the first few days: Thursday & Friday staying at the gloriously named ‘Space Shuttle Inn’ in Titusville. No prizes for guessing what we’re doing on Friday, then . Sunday night sees us in Florida City, ready to shoot down to Key West on Monday.

After that, we make it up as we go along. The general idea is to head north west up to the Pan Handle & along the top of the state, then back south towards Orlando, taking in St Augustine & Daytona. Hoping to catch up with Smilo somewhere along the line. I say, “catch up”, do you realise that we’ve never actually met In person? (unlike Eddy, who can’t get away from us despite his best efforts).

Yeah, we are experiencing warmer than normal temps right now, due to a high pressure area that is routing weather from the south.

I imagine our "normal" temps this time of year still are a bit warmer than the UK, but you are getting the deluxe treatment.

Having a good time so far ... found that there’s a brewery in Titusville (the Playalinda Brewing Company) so will be checking that one out ASAP) as it sounds great.

They are pretty good.  There are two locations, one downtown (just a bar) and one near the space center entrance (bar and food).  You probably want the one near the entrance to the space center.

Fairly bog-standard brew-pub, but a big deal for our little town.

If I'm not stuck at work, I'll try to look in on here to see if you want to meet up when you are out here. My workplace and home are both nearby...

It would be really good to finally meet up with you. We’re off to the Space Center this morning, not sure where we’ll be this afternoon but a visit to the brewery will no doubt be on the agenda . Staying another night here at the Space Shuttle Inn, leaving tomorrow afternoon to stay tomorrow night at Okeechobee and the heading down towards the Keys.

Fingers crossed that we’ll see you. We’re intending to return to Titusville before we fly home on 15th March. We’re rather taken with the place!

I’ll check online when I can access a WiFi network (roaming data with my home provider is horrendously expensive, the daft thing is that when I’m at home I can phone the States for only a few cents).

Dang... Was hoping you would be visiting the space center on the weekend. I might be able to tag along and bore you with old space stories!

I don't get off of work until about 5-ish. You may be off wherever by then. I'll PM you my mobile phone number. Would texting me be the best/cheapest option for you? I can only check this site occasionally.

Maybe we can meet up this evening or tomorrow morning before you head out. Or, failing that, maybe when you swing back through.

Only just got out of the Space Center! No one warned me how much there is to see! Having a beer in the brewery downtown to recover. Heading back to the motel at about 6:15 pm, will send you a text when we get back there, if you have an iPhone, iMessage or email is cheaper when I’m on a network but ordinary text isn’t too bad. Will speak later ...

Lovely weather here, but I'm working... I would consider trading!

Demolition guys are at the house this morning to start tearing things out of the "old" side of the garage.

I'll be glad when I have something more interesting to report on! Did get the Ducati out this past weekend, though, so a little light at the end of the tunnel.

Haven't heard anything... Did you get home OK, or are you off on another trip?

Last heard of nead you ask in a house of ill repute DRINKING a alcoholic beverage to excess , well to you and I it would be excess to our dear Kate it will only have been a sample , so yes she did call in home then off up to the Lake district to said house of ill repute as is her want

I’m home, thoroughly depressed & missing the Florida sunshine . Had a great time & planning a return trip to the areas we particularly liked (inc Titusville/Cocoa Beach & the Space Center for a third visit).

Had a couple of trips away in the motorhome since we got back but off to a hotel tomorrow for a birthday treat, courtesy of the Lovely Man. Thought we’d head over to Ireland to watch a couple of road races, then Scotty Land and the IOM for the S100 in July

Yeahhh... Pretty much the same for me. Except that we are still getting enough sunshine... but no hotel , no trip, no Ireland, no Land of Scots (unless you count Bretons as Scots), and sadly again - no IOM... I'm doing something wrong...

Hmmm... Trying to decide if lots of close-by racing is a good trade for Florida weather. Oh well, it's a moot point, since I've already invested too heavily in the garage!

Glad you are home safe and crazy Florida was entertaining enough to make you want to come back.
