Hope the weather holds for you... Have a good ride!
Had a great, if non-traditional, Thanksgiving here. More car than bike related (big hot rod get together in Daytona).

It was a bit wet to put it nicely we had about three heavy showers and gale forse winds at times , not good but the worst part was because of the weather there was only about half of what had said was going to be there turned up

Re: Santa run
We're approaching the time of year when 'runs' are on snowmobiles instead of bikes. I was in the local shop this afternoon and there was quite a selection of new sport bikes on 'clear-out' pricing. It was not a good summer for bike sales! I found myself wondering if he would take the Ninja on trade for a very nice DR200, but then I spied a brand new DRZ400! Having all my money currently invested in debt, I ran from the building without any further adieus... Maybe new boots for the spring... I wonder if the Yorkshire Santa will make it to Cape Breton?

Nice St. Nick riding gear. I suppose there is a "thrifty Yorkshire Santa" joke in there somewhere, but I'll leave that for now...

I checked... No mention of a white Yamaha in the song about Rudolph... Mind you, I suspect a red nose under that helmet after a cold ride!

Re: Santa run
Pooo! We're seeing pictures of knee high water in towns in Yorkshire and flooded store fronts in Ramsey. Seems as though the clouds are parked more or less permanently overhead. We see that sometimes in the spring, but this time of year here it is usually snow. Deeper, but easier to clean up after! Nice looking bunch of mallards tho'!

Re: Santa run
Ye bad on the IoM the bridge at Laxey collapsed as a double decker bus was on it the bus ended up under the bridge with the top deck collapsed they managed to get every one off that was on it so no one hurt thankfully , last time we had dear snow we got floods when it melted , that was the last time we had big floods like we have just had , going to take some time to rebuild all the bridges that are down and to inspect all those that have taken a battering , in some areas the election is down and are getting power from generators , and as you say some shops flooded , it's going to be a long hard slog for some that's for sure

Re: Santa run
This is a relatively calm time of year for us (normally, knock on wood), but we have our share of bad stuff too, so I can feel for my friends on the other side of the pond.
Glad no one was hurt in that bridge collapse. I'm more afraid of falling off into the ocean when I'm taking the Laxey road. Particularly in a double-decker!

Am having trouble with the wonder whap again , gone to a new provider on fiber go faster and still getting set up , hope we have done the right thing , had an Email from Timbs the other day saying he isn't going to the TT in 2016 but going to the Ulster GP in August instead , he did say when I saw him at this years TT that he would pop on here and say hello but he never turned up , He was having trouble with his shoulder but not sure how that has turned out

Re: Santa run
We only dream of this "fiber" thing in my burg. Vaguely thinking of a TT, "classic" TT or other such thing in the next few years now that things are settling down a bit.

Re: Santa run
We are lucky over here with the racing thing we have that much that close to us , often it used to be for us especially when I was still working was time clashes and only having so much hol entitlement to fit it all in , but since retiring we have had a good time , and are still planing going to places we could not fit in before we still have a list of bike race events we want to go to , live the dream some one told us did they realize how much of a dreamer I am ??? Lol

Boy! The videos of that flooding are hard to watch. All that destruction and nothing you could do to stop it. Makes me even more grateful for what I have. And it makes you more mindful of what you could loose and what is important. You must have even more pangs of bad memories Smilo!
We had a bad wind day on the beach and it turned from this
to this
in two days.
We would have substantial damage around the house and outbuildings if it got to hurricane force with a direct hit. We've had a few close calls, but we were just lucky.
I guess a little snow-storm every once in a while is no great problem!
When it inevitably happens again this winter, I'll just cocoon with my little buddy and ride it out!
