Went to Scarborough at the weekend , was wet (very wet ) and cold , that wet that the field they use for parking at Olivers Mount race circuit was a night mare , on Saturday they had three tractors and several 4x4s pulling people in and pulling them back out , we didnt bother and heard how bad it was that we decided not to take the Bugilow up there so I left the boss on the caravan site we were staying on with some of the family and got one of them to drop me off at the gate , a wise move when I saw how bad it was , it was a mixed day , the weather had picked up and there was some good racing , then we had a very bad end to the day , a accedent on the back strait and one of the riders suffered bad injuries was taken to Hospital where his injuries were so bad that 24 hrs later they made the desision to turn of the ventilator and allow him to pass away , so sad he was a young up and coming rider Billy Redmayne racing the had to be abandoned as they hadn't enough medical cover to carry on , in the first atempt to rune that race another rider had to be taken to hospital but he was releast that evening with sevear bruesing to his pelvis and legs , so all in all not a good weekend

Somewhere in my old "non-digital" picture drawer I have pictures of a group of CBX (yes, the big six-bangers) owners having mud drag races in the infield of Daytona one wet year.

A few even removed their mufflers to add to the excitement. Don't think that would happen these days, unfortunately.
