So I'm waiting at the light at the intersection of the main highway in Sydney. Ahead across the intersection is a 1/4 mile two lane access to the highway, but it merges to one lane at the end because of never ending road work.
Out of the corner of my eye, I notice a white fender pull up in the right lane.
I ignore it, wait for the green and accelerate slowly because there is a bump in the road that always bashes me in the back.
As soon as I cross the bump, the white fender turns into a new Mustang convertible. It pulls ahead by one length and I see the driver (crew cut, 50's, muscle shirt, gold chain, etc...) and his son (carbon copy) look over their shoulder, laugh, and then the driver boots it! An obvious attempt at beating me to the merge.
Now I ask you... Is there any more blatant reason for taking offense?
Without the least hesitation or contemplation, I teach the obnoxious Mustangers that even baby Ninjas can blow them away in seconds. Even do a 'light front wheel' shift on the way past.
He fades to a little dot in the mirrors, and never attempts to catch up in the next 5 miles of highway at legal speeds.
How old am I anyways?
Ha! I don't care! This is why I ride, right?Twisted Evil

I like it J P that would be me as well , and what I love is the chance to see them at some car park or what ever and take off the lid just to show that you should not play clever sh-ts with OLD men on Bikes

Back when I had a regular group Sunday ride, we would occasionally run across the occasional "the salesman said I had the fastest vehicle on the road" types.

Just make sure to watch for lack of braking skills to go with the rest of the dim bulb package. We had one guy in a Trans Am (remember those?) just about clean us out at the next junction.

We were so far ahead of him, we were sitting near the junction, discussing which route to take. He was still "racing" and didn't realize the junction was there.

Fortunately, we were off of the road, but considering his lack of braking stills he could have still ended up hitting us.

"Knight Rider" Scared himself silly, though. And us too to a lesser degree!

Yes, those people crack me up. What a bunch of morons, any bike of 500 c.c. or more could dust them off without breaking a sweat.

Smilo! Almost precognitive!
I'm on the way home last night after dark and approaching a 'detour' on the highway that consists of a gentle left and right wiggle around some construction. I pull up behind Granny in her Cavalier and wonder what she's gonna do. All of a sudden she panics, honks on the brakes, and turns her left turn signal on! There is NO place to go left and I can see something not good possible here, so I touch the brakes just to light up my taillights in case things go bad.
Sure enough, I hear screeching right behind me and without thinking boot it to pull up beside Granny on her right on the shoulder.
Quick check in the rearview and I see headlights swerving and almost on Granny's tail (just where I was seconds ago).
Things settle out as Granny navigates the next bit and I turn to glare at the headlights behind me. Turns out to be a 17 year old girl driving Mommy's Cobalt (another Chev! Conspiracy?). She rides everybody's bumper and attempts several passes in impassable places for the next 15 miles until she roars off on a side road. Whatever happened to Driver's Ed?
I'm always a little worried about doing something stupid to myself while riding, but getting whacked from behind is a nightmare. Hard to guard against that.
