Dont you just hate it even when it is one you never really used much 5 years and less than a thousand miles , but still sad to see it go even though I think it has gone to a good home to some one that will sort out some of the things it needed then use it on the green lanes that it was designed for , by by little XL

Yeah, it's tough. Bikes are a reminder of many great adventures. Also, they seem more like "companions" on those adventures, rather than just "tools".

So, even if they aren't actively used, taking up space, using money to license and insure, etc. they are still pleasant reminders to have around.

Hopefully, this consolidation means that there will be a bike out there that you WILL be putting more miles on!

Ye I found it a bit mixed , but it allows me to move on , I have ordered the bits to service the big baby the Pan ready for MOT test then see how we get on with either letting her go or keeping it one more year , parting with that old girl will bring a year to the eye , had her since 2002 and is still ready for a round the world tour in the right hands , wish I thought I was up to it and could afford to be the one to take her on that tour , but allas it will never be

I've seen a few of my 'dearly departed' on various 'used bikes for sale' sites. Mostly going for a lot more than I sold 'em for and hopefully because they are in better shape. I'd love to have kept most of them, but I'm not even properly using the two currently in residence to the proper degree. For every thing there is a time... Wink
Mind you, the old Honda looks a lot better now than when you got it, right?

Oh Yeah!! Thought it looked different.
The DT is a keeper for sure.

This is one of my all-time favorite bikes that I sold to my buddy in a fit of insanity.
It was probably the best all round 'play' bike I've ever ridden. It was also a constant winter companion equipped with about 700 studs. Sheer ice was transformed into hard packed dirt. Wheelies, stoppies, drifting, was all possible and crashes were soft but tended to last for several seconds while you slid sideways for a couple of hundred feet.
Absolute blast.

... and now I live 50 feet from a 5 mile long lake with smoooooth ice. I wonder if there are any 175's on Kijiji??

I was never a stinker fan , always had the four bangers but when I was given the DT to have a go at and got it out on the road for the first time it was such a shock , no 125 ever had that sort of go about them in my day , that power valve lives up to its name pooowwwweeeerrrr and the handling is just so sweet throw it around any how you like and it laughs at you saying is that the best you can do and screems off looking for the next bend , love it
