Appolagies for not been on here for a while it has been crap year for me in a little over a year we have been to 5 funerals the last of which was yesterday , please oh please let that be the last for a long time ,
At the beginning of the year we were making good use of the Bugilow with two weeks in North Wales the first on the coast the second a few weeks later not far away where I got chance to take photos of the F15 fighter jets training for low level flying fantastic then back home to welcome a new great grand daughter and what a joy that little girl has brought to our lives , and has me wrapped tightly around her finger all ready ,
Bike wise I still get out on the Pan as I can but sadly not as much as I would like having said that will be out tomorrow http://leeds.carpediem.cd/events/1036599-ride-of-remembrance-2016-at-squires-bikers-cafe/ did it last year and it was a well supported ride lets hope for the same again ,
Well the dark nights are with us once again so should now find time to come on a bit more and post up some photos from the bike meetings we got to so sitting back and thinking about it tge year has had more sad times than one would choose but at the same time we have had some fantastic times as well
Looking at what you boys have had at yonder side on't pond is terifying to us with the storms , just glad they pettered out before they got to us
Well off now to get things ready for tomorrow back sooner than last visit promiss

Ah, the little Welsh trains. Those look like the ones I rode on the Ffestiniog line (we rode out to Portmerion). Part of the same little system that has been kept up by volunteers?

And great airplane shots. Did you have a fancy camera rig to get those?

The trains we were on there run on a line along the side of Balla Lake a beutifull ride ,
The photos of the jets were taken with a cannon 400d with a 300mm zoom usm lens , would live to go back there again , but with other plans we have for next year I am not sure when , we are planning on doing what they call the nc500 it starts at Invernes cuts across to the west coast then follows the coast line round the very northern edge of Scotland back down to Invernes were it stated 500 miles of by what I have seen and what others have put up to be some of the best scenery in the UK
So that is the big one for next year fingers crossed we can pull it off

That sounds like a pretty cool trip... We certainly enjoyed the scenery up in that region (as far north as we got).

Still would like to go to the NW200, but work responsibilities for both of us loom pretty heavily. Not sure if we're going to be able to pull that one off either.

Yeah, your Canon is a pretty fancy camera rig by my standards, anyhow. I want to get a new camera before the next big trip, but always have to figure between picture quality and what I can effectively carry on a bike (or walking around for that matter).

The cannon I have is old hat so cheap on ebay , but does what I want , buut for scenery shots and family stuff I just use the camera phone , they are quite good on todays not so smart smart phones I even have an atachment to mount the smart fellow on to the blunderbus's flash mount so I can take vids of the bikes as I am taking the stills , getting to be a right smart arse me look you , a bit like a Harley rider all the gear and no idea , lol

Been a bad day my mate Dexter the dog is not well and they cant find whats wrong with him after exrays and other tests  ,  have to and pick him up in a couple of hrs try him on some meds to see how he goes , hate to see him all sad with himself and in pain , I hate it , just have to see how he gets on over the next 48hrs

Sometimes I wish life would slow down a bit and give me a breather. I suppose there is always something worse that could happen. I am reaching the age where I very carefully open the obituary page in case I'm featured. I do feel it would be a surprise to kick the bucket, so I'm staying away from buckets...
Hope the doggie is feeling better Eddie. We have a new pup now that is a constant companion, but I still miss the old girl on beach walks. They're all so different.
I may have reached a milestone at work this week. The head office have been endlessly sending down bone-head commands for years now, but they just pushed me over the edge with the last shift change requirements. It would alter any free time into little chunks of early mornings and late evenings with meal times at unreasonable hours and miserable shifts through the weekends. I'll be joining the majority of hourly workers on the 'part-time' list next year. At least that way I can control my hours and cut back to enjoy my time off.
I'll have to eat grass, mind you, and IOM trips will be even more difficult with the reduced income flow.
Sanity and personal happiness are more important though. I feel better already.
Now... What can I sell to afford gas for the snow-blower??

When still at work I used to worry how we would manage , but when they took my leicense off me a yesr before I was due to retire I was crapping my self , but we managed we coped ok we had to cut back mend and make do , but then after a few months when they had sorted me out with the bypass op , it had become a way of life that we found we were enjoying , and after the op when they told me at every oppertunity that 4% of people did not survive the op , I have looked at life saying anything after the op is a bonus and I am hell bent on living every min to the full sixty seconds , and hell we have had one hell of a six years now and plans enough to fill another ?? who knows , just bring em on , as for the snow you can keep that stuff , the cold I do find hard these days but then I cant do with +25 s and above ,
Dexter is responding to meds fingers crossed he doesnt like taking them , funny he doednt show any pain when he is fighting take them , strong little git then oh ye grrr I hate gighting with him , dont know what i would do if he was a big fellow ,

Good news about the doggie... I'm still a relative youngin' compared to you lot, but can still understand where you are coming from.

Finally got a whole weekend last weekend, and the weather even cooperated (no hurricanes or anything!).  I managed to spend a day catching up on things out in the garage.  I was going to spend Sunday tinkering with the Ducati (what's Ducati ownership without expensive accessories?).

But, the weather was so nice, we went for a ride instead.  That is what the things are for after all.

So back in the slave pits today, but it's a short week, as this is "Thanksgiving" for us in this old colony.  Normally a big meal with family, but not feasible this year (we're shooting for Christmas instead), so we decided to head up to Daytona for the big Hot Rod run there.

I might actually be off work long enough to forget about it a bit...

For years I wanted to build one of them hot rods but could not weld and could not afford to pay some one to do it , then when I got a welder and learnt how to weld I was spending most weekends welding cars up for other people to earn a few £ to help run my car and help pay for family hols and the like , and hjust never got round to it , and now I have the time I have got to the stage I cant be bothered to mess about under cars vans or anything else that gets my hands dirty I leave it to others and cry when they give me the bill , happy days , but just a couple of days ago I have pulled my shoulder and cant do much at all , grrrr talk about bad to live with , AM I ??

Pulled vmy shoulder then my right hip has come out in sympathy for two days had all on to get about at all , and my four leged friend Dexter is still not well and we still dont know what is wrong for sure they have (or I should say the wife has found he has a infection we think in his left ear ) so more meds yesterday and see how he is in a weeks time
Had a family day to day in the great grand daughters christening , so thinking tomorrow will be a chill out day ( oops tomorrow us today it is 20 past midnight here time I was in bed , night night

Sounds like you just need to stand completely still for about a week or so!

Had a great time at the Hot Rod thingie, saw lots of cool and/or crazy cars, like you say, wish I had the time to jump in.

I took a few pics which I'll try to put up later. It looks like there is some sort of Ferrari thing going on at Daytona this coming weekend, and even Vettel and Kimi will be there with the F1 car. So, might head back to have a look a that.

Had enough time off for the holiday that I even got to tinker with the new bike a bit. The weather is getting good this time of year, so pleasant working in the garage.

Me stand still ?? Plenty of time for that when rigarmortice sets in , fingers crossed my best mate Dexter the mut is getting better after having a big argument with the vets , so a weekend spoiling tge boss its her 70th tomorrow then Bugilow in for a service and yearly test on Tuesday then up to Jock Scotch Land to see our Son with the usual crimbo prezzies for a few days then you never know I might get a day off ,

Went oyt for a meal with the family for the boss's birthday to an Italion place in town that has not been going long and have to say was spot on , the best meal in Riopn that we have had in a long time , then yeterday to a Christmas fair at Lotherton Hall a statley house not far away all done up with a Fairy glen walk for the kids , the boss was well pleased , but today she is feeling crap all full of cold , so taken to her bed and left me in charge of the great grand kids ME in CHARGE ???? do they never learn ?? on the good side I have been here in charge for over an hr and we havent broken a toy yet , they must be making them tougher these days or I am loosing my touch ,

Saw on Facebook that the doggie was feeling better. I should have paid more attention in high school biology and taken vet college like my aptitude test said to do! The money they charge! Unless you get a friendly one, they charge triple for aspirin or sugar pills or whatever. Factor 10 for anything complicated compared to over the counter pharmacy stuff.

Weather turning here. Finally gave in today and put the KLR on the bike jack for winter service. Had snow on and off all day, and nothing better in the forecast for the rest of the week so that's it. Done for 2016.
With possible part-time retirement looming, we may get more and better quality time in next year. Just saw the pre-release pics of a baby Versys out for 2017. Will wait for the official testing and see what kind of weight it comes in at before spending any time lusting!

We seem to be taking it in turnes at feeling crap dog wife great grandkids me round and round we go , oh well what ever
I like the look of the Versys but they tell me it will pas anything but a gas station , very poor tank range , being used to 220 -240 miles it would anoy me having to stop every 100 or less , put big tanks on and it upsetts the balence cant win , but if this shoulder carries on like this it may bring a very unwanted end to my riding days , I am not giving in without a fight but nearly a month and if anything it is getting worse , dont think the cold helps. Any chance of keeping the cold yonder side on't pond and sending some warm stuff over ?? I would be ever so gratefull ,

On the subject of warmth/cold though, you'll have to get Smilo to send warm weather. We're plumb out! Ice all over the parking lot this morning and they are spreading the dreaded grit and salt mix that ruins everything until May! Bah!

Wait for a few days for Smilo's weather too. Just looking at the reports and he is in the midst of pretty ugly thunderstorms. Nobody lives in Paradise anymore! Snow in Hawaii!!

Nah, not bad... A little rain today (needed) and pretty nice the next couple of weeks... At least according to these guys...

I'm thinking of building a small greenhouse this spring. Our weather was pooh at the beginning of the growing season and the garden ended up pretty sparse...

We have an unused garden due to lack of time to do anything with it (both of our work assignments are pretty tough right now). Once we imported some good soil (and found a spot that gets some sun), we were doing pretty good. Needs a little love now to get going again, though.

Come the revolution, you will need to be self-sufficient. Plant tomatoes and buy an Uzi!

Maybe I can just throw tomatoes...
