A week in the Lake district
When in some areas there are certain people you just have to call in and see

That's a lot of beach! Reminds me of my trip to Portmerion. I keep expecting to see a big white balloon bouncing down the beach like "The Prisoner"...

That beach is on the top side of Morecambe Bay where our TT winner Mc Pint is from where the tide is known for coming in in places at the speed of a galloping horse and is known in places for quick sand that has resulted in many deaths over the years while out there shrimping , we had intended going up in to the hills for a couple of days but the weather came down and the hill tops were covered in low cloud and we have been up there in that before and it is no joy so we stayed down in the lowlands following the coast , visiting places we used to go to on a regular basis every year when the kids were small but have not been to in years , so was nice seeing all the changes , most for the better I would say for a change , but as ever one or two looking a bit run down , but came back thinking we must not leave it so long before going back this time
not a bad place to park the Bugilow for lunch and have a chill out for a couple of hrs
and not a bad place to spend the night
and for the final night down by the harbour side

Re: A week in the Lake district
Great pictures, Eddy! Our little vacation this year has rekindled the wanderlust in us. I'll post pictures of the 'cruise' in another topic, but I can see why my cousin is always on about the whole 'Lakes' district and the need for me to visit. He now lives in Kendal, Cumbria. ( And I used to live right next door to Lancaster, but in Ontario, Canada!)
The Bigalow is looking good! We have a weird selection of European 'caravans' wandring about the island here. Some of the Germans are pretty funny when they bring over their great humping 4 wheel drive 'adventure' Mercedes vans and expect to be driving over tundra in downtown Sydney!
