More trips out in the Bugilow
had a trip out to Scarborough at the weekend to a Hill Climb some thing we have not been to in years , we had a nice day and a couple of days over there just chilling out
We have now gone and booked up to go over to the IOM for the Jurby Motofest Day something that I think is the best day the Island has to offer I love it all the old bikes there to get all up close to and watch being ridden round the track three or four times a day and sometimes more love it , we go over on the 29th the Saturday in the middle of the Classic TT Manx Festival then we are coming back over on the Wednesday evening and staying the night outside Heysham and moving on down to North Wales on the Thursday for 5 days to Rhyl an area we have never been to but have always wanted to go
all go this retirement game

Re: More trips out in the Bugilow
That sounds like the perfect IOM trip! I'm thinking that may be what I'm going to plan for the 'bucket list'. Only trouble, and there is ALWAYS something that is 'trouble', is that it is right in the middle of the best weather here too! Hard to justify leaving our fairly short summer to go out gallivanting over the pond.
It might take some convincing for SWMBO to go along with that plan...
One that subject though, here is a shot from our vacation this July. I have not got around to uploading the 1000+ shots from the trip... but this is a taste!
Going to be hard to one-up THIS trip!
No motorcycles involved anywhere, except on the tiny island of St.Pierre-Miquelon (look it up!). About 15 mile of road on the island that really is part of France. First 4 bikes I see? A 80cc moped (natch), then a Hyabusa, a GSX750, and a Big Ducati! What the Hell?
Would have loved to have spoken to the riders to see what they were thinking!

Re: More trips out in the Bugilow
Looks wet and cold... Much like some of my days during TT trips!
I'm hoping to take a little trip to the Barber Museum vintage festival in October, but it's coming up fast, so not sure if it's going to work out.
Still lots of other "life" stuff going on.
The Barber festival is relatively new, but has grown extremely rapidly. Doesn't hurt to have the marvelous museum (which they are adding on to!) and track on site. They exercise some of the museum bikes as well...

Re: More trips out in the Bugilow
Barber is on the top 5 Bucket List. SWMBO would not concur, but it could be a separate vacation I guess.
Our trip WAS wet. After all, it was the middle of the Gulf of St.Lawrence! However, it was beautiful and warm and actually mostly spooky calm!
There is a whale in the foreground by the way, if you look real hard...
Just to prove we made it all the way to France... Territory of France...
...and to the desert! (Sable Island)
...and we had open air BBQ's and deck parties. Couldn't have picked a better 10 days. Looking forward to seeing pictures from IOM for the Manx. I heard rumors that they occasionally have nice weather there...

Re: More trips out in the Bugilow
Ye that sure looks like a trip to remember , bit on the watery side for me I like to have my feet on something a bit more solid
as for the Manx weather I too have heard that rumor , if I remember it right I think the last time they had a summer was in about 2007 and I have heard that the next summer is forecast for 2027

Re: More trips out in the Bugilow
I'd say if you do go to Barber, try to make it during that festival... And give them a while to finish their additions.
We are in "Caribbean Cruise Central" here. We did a weekend trip to try it out a while back. We may go on another to get away for a short trip. It's a "long weekend" thing for us, and we can do some nice last-minute deals.
We'd like to build up to an Alaskan cruise, maybe wait until I have some business in Seattle to ease the airfare costs.
Wow, ten days. That's a long time on a ship. You must not be a land-lubber!

Re: More trips out in the Bugilow
I was just looking over both a Jamaican cruise and an Alaska cruise this weekend. We've had relatives and friends (not the same, eh?) do both and they all came back with glowing reports. The Caribbean cruises in particular are WAY less expensive, but they don't do THIS for you...
Now, come to think of it, you might not WANT them to do this for you, but it was part of the adventure...
going places you never thought you'd go... Maybe even places you SHOULDN'T go!
Oh yeah, and bird watching...
LOTS of birds...
Lots and LOTS of birds...
