Starter motor is an easy do-it-yourself-er (but might not be cheap as a part depending on the vehicle).
Clutch is a bit tougher. I've done it, but on ancient and simple stuff. Don't know if I'd tackle it on a new thing.
If we still had the original FS resources, we could probably find you a cheap fix(er)...

Am lucky Smily My son is in the trade and has the facility's and gear to do most things , as you say the Starter motor is easy I will have that done this morning ordered off the web yesterday arrived at 8.30 this morning half the price that I could get one locally , but will take the van to his unit to use the ramps and let them do it they do them in a fraction of the time it would take me , it is one of the old school type clutches so not too bad or expensive compared to the new duo-mass jobs , fingers crossed by tomorrow night all should be looking good again , we shall overcome

The starter on my old Bedford looks like an old fossil, but still works a treat! If it ain't broken......
I got a clutch off ebay, cheap, but the wrong one, unfortunately!
