sad news of a old forum member
Sad news one of the Old forum members is fighting his final fight a very well known man and a personal friend over the last 10 to 15 years , known to most as Guzy Man /Stubottle / and my name for him MrG , Stu Gethings
He had not been feeling unwell for a couple of months now and went for tests end of June early July and it was found that he has the Big C , he was booked to have chemo treatment but it was found that the strain of the big C that he has is very aggressive and chemo would not be effective so was transferred to Saint Catherine's Hospice in Scarborough very close to where he and his wife have lived for many years ,
I called in to see him a couple of times over the weekend as I was over in Scarborough for the Barry Sheene race weekend , he so wanted to go to the meeting but was far too week to go , but he was cheered up when one of the past stars of Roads Racing that came from the same place as himself Wakefield the legendary Mick Grant a true gent and ambassador of our sport called in to see him on the Saturday and had a signed program and signed photo delivered to him on the Sunday that brought a smile to his face that was nice to see ,
My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family at this sad time

Awful news... Memory isn't what it used to be (and there were so many sparkies back then), but I do believe I was fortunate enough to meet up with him on one (or more) of my TT trips.
And I've certainly communicated via e-mail a few
If you see him again, send him regards from one of his old Sparkie friends.
*sigh*

Saw the news on Facebook. Seems so fast. Makes you want to do something now, just in case you run out of time! One of the many I would like to have had a pint with in Ginger Hall or somewheres... Think I'll raise a little shot this evening to all, here and there...

His send off was worthy of the man , he was flaged off the line at his beloved Olivers Mount race circuite to do his final lap then to the lical biker cafe to meet up with about 50 of his mates on bikes to escort him to his final destinaton where on arival he was given the chequatd flag , then as per his wishes we all went to a biker cafe a few miles out of yown and swopped stories about him , a good biker send off RIP Stu

Very nice. Proper thing. I'd like to have 50 friends around to swap lies with even now!
