Well, at least you stretched it out as long as you could!
What was the deal with leaving the bike on the island? Some financial or logistics improvement?

well its a long story so sit back make a brew and read on , our son lives up in Ayr Scotland and his wife was having a baby the week before practice week a baby we never thought they would have and it was thought she would have to have a cesarean birth and would need looking after , now the wife did not have the best of times at the TT last year so she decided to go and look after the them and send me off out of the way to the TT so it was thought the best way was to fly over from Glasgow that is about a 50min drive from Ayr , so I wanted the bike over to use as transport for the two weeks ( well you would wouldn't you ) so the week before I took the wife up to Ayr I took the bike over on a cheep day return and left it with a friend of ours that lives there and who I stayed with then after the end of the TT I flew back to Glasgow back to Ayr spent a couple of days there then back home then back to the Island for another day pick the bike up and bring her home , now I did tell you it was along story , but some things in life just have to be done and this was one of them , but have to say it was strange being there with out the wife ,it was nice having the big bike there for a change but just not the same without her , it was the longest we have been apart in 47 years it will not happen again I will drag her kicking and screaming if I have to , can I go and have lay down in a darkened corner now my poor fingers are sore Ha Ha Ha

No, that makes perfect sense. I won't even begin to go into my (occasionally) convoluted escapades trying to get on the island, with a bike, during the TT, from the states...
