Post by Steady Eddy on Sat Jul 13, 2013 6:47 am

Like Katie c I have been busy since the early part of May my feet have hardly touched the ground over to the Island three times then a week in Wales at Shell Island and on the way home went to Tonfanau bike races to marshal for the day and what a week end that was I got to do the flag on the finish line a first for me and that was fun and there was some brill old bikes there Tomy Robs old Suzi square four first time it had been paraded since a 7 year rebuild Nick Jefferies on DJ's Bike and racing a 600 to get his signatures to do the Classic TT in August at the Manx , then was nearly home and got a call to tell us our new Grandchild only 8 weeks old was in Hospital with suspected meningitis so shower change of clobber and back on the road up to Scotland , thankfully it was not but still very poorly for a few days thank fully she is ok now and back home doing well , but they do not know what it was just that the antibiotics that they gave her did the trick so with a bit of luck we should get home on Sunday get jobs at home done and ready to go to Scarborough on Friday for the C-ck-ot- North meeting so , sorry as I am it will be hit and miss for me for the next 3 months back from Scarborough then van MOT Oulton park BSB home for two days and off to the Manx for three weeks then home for a week and over to Scarborough again for the Gold cup so from now to the middle of September it will be all go then a couple of weeks off and down to Brands Hatch for the final BSB round then ????? there must be some thing I have forgotten

I'm in hurry up and wait mode.
I was to Medicine Hat on Thursday past for an ultra sound on my shoulder.
The radiologist Dr. looked at me rolled his eyes and said
"This is a mess"
I have a torn ligament with fluid built up around the tear.
I see Dr. Martin the ortho surgeon at Medicine Hat Hospital on Monday.
He will tell me where and when I will get surgery.
So, I'm filling my days with walking the dog. pestering the stupid cat. surfing web sites.
And I thought screw it!!
So, ive been out riding my DR650.
I grit my teeth and out I go.
What more damage can I do? LOL
Cheers

Yeah, yeah... Bragging about going to the IOM for motorcycle racing is too easy...

Kind of like Bill Gates saying "...but that isn't a problem for me... because I'm FILTHY RICH!"

Very Happy

Ah yes, retirement! I have the "Freedom 85" plan. Work 'til I'm 85, then die!
On the plus side, I have 6 days off in a row week after next. Must see if there is any tread left on the rear tire...

...and Timmy! Clutch side or brake? (Say hi to the cat)

Hmmm... Either you are riding older bikes than I thought J.P., or your bike riding technique is "interesting".

I *might* be able to reach the clutch with my foot, but it would certainly be tough while trying to break for a corner!

I know what you mean about the "Freedom 85" plan. If I can even manage to stayed employed that long! Regardless of the economy, increased health care costs have meant that older employees have to go, and that particular under-the-table discrimination seems to be fine.

Tech industries are whining over here about needing more foreign visas to make up for the skilled tech worker shortage, but fail to mention that they nearly never consider anybody over 35!
