Montreal Trip Pics
Well, I did promise to post a few pics from the trip, so let me give it a shot. In reviewing my photos, I realized that a lot of the real scenic stuff is missing because I was busy riding through it and enjoying it. I'd have had to stop every 5 miles or so, and was having to much fun for that. Suffice it to say that eastern Pennsylvania and the Adirondacks were great places to ride.
Waiting for the train to leave the station
Bikes being unloaded at the Virginia end. We are just behind the tractor.

Across from the pits on qualifying day
Rest stop in the Adirondacks with float planes across the street

Re: Montreal Trip Pics
You are mistaken. It is from a hippy-ish store in Daytona that does tie-dye shirts for bike week. It actually says "Grateful Davidson" as in "Grateful Dead".
Me wear Harley "lifestyle" clothing. Not even if I owned one!

The train trip was because we wanted to try it, and with my wife's limited holiday time, we couldn't have made the complete trip by bike. It was still about 1500 bike miles as well as a couple of thousand by train (17 hours).
Don't think I'd do it again, to be honest, but it was a novelty, and let us get all the way up to Montreal and back to Florida (including all the holiday time in between) in two weeks.

Did the same in France once when we were down in Cannes with brother and his wife on the bikes and our mother was dying so needed to get home asap , it gave us 700 miles over night , not some thing I would want to do again 6 beds in a small compartment with people you did not know , not a lot of sleep that night

Re: Montreal Trip Pics
Kinda fell off the earth for the last month... Sorry! Just realized that fall is approaching and I've done nothing but work all summer. Good to see a bit of old Montreal (well... a very small bit...). We used to take the train (never with a bike, but with kids - way worse) from Montreal to Halifax or vice versa. Kinda fun in a mindless way. Did it in the winter once and it saved some pretty bad driving time. Trouble is the train is getting worse and worse service and the roads are getting better. Last drive was some 14 hours for the 1,300KM. train now takes two days!
I forgot all about the F1 Race in Montreal and didn't even watch it. Must have been doing something important, like mowing the lawn or som'in...
