Re: On a dog walk round Chester
Thanks for posting those. Having a tough morning this morning, so nice to see somebody having fun. A lot to absorb!
Was the "vintage" Yamaha trials bike the one that was yours?
Chester looks pretty interesting. I never managed to make it there on my journeys to Wales. I was definitely in that area, but we probably bypassed to make time getting somewhere else.

Re: On a dog walk round Chester
Bad day wasn't too bad, just a minor plumbing problem (with my *new* plumbing) that required time off of work (and money) to fix. Stressful after all the house issues, though. And now I'm working extra hours to make up the time.
Trials isn't that popular round here, and I wish it was. My latest TV setup allows me to watch the extreme indoors trials which is really amazing to see.

I like the trials stuff , it has a good following over here and a good grass routes club level of trials most weekends in most areas , after all the bad stuff going down at Scarborough and at the North West over the last few weeks it becomes more appealing , having said thatwe are going to Darley Moor on Friday for a classic and vintage bike meeting , then going over to Welsh Wales again this time to have a go at taking photos of the jets practicing low flying below radare levels , they call it The Mac Loop , put it in google looks good to me fingers crossed the weather is ok

Re: On a dog walk round Chester
Was just starting to watch the NW on recorded TV and went to look at it based on your comments.
I had seen the Farquhar crash, and was wondering his condition, but didn't see the race yet where (apparently) Malachi Mitchell-Thomas was fatally injured.
Awful news about this up and coming star. Also read about the other fatality at Scarborough. Didn't know that rider, but horrible news regardless.

It leaves a bad taste in the mouth the one at Scarborough Billy was a paratrooper and a very nice young guy , then Malachi again very young and a great young man liked by every one , Ryan is on the mend six broken ribs and lacerated liver , its a cruel sport some times , doing the marshalling for all those years doesn't make it any easier to come to terms with, in fact the older I get the more I stuggle with it , just on loading the Bugilow ready for the off in the morning , Darley Moor here we come

Have a good trip. We are planning a trip to St. Augustine FL this weekend for a bike show. A friend here at work is showing some vintage scooters. Weather is threatening, though...

Feel like I've abandoned ship here! Have not been posting anywhere for a few weeks. We have a family re-union every 24th of May (Holiday here), and it involves 50+ lobsters, 3 whole salmons, and several pounds of smoked meat (imported from Montreal). Oh yeah, and beer. Lots of beer. And rum. Everybody left yesterday, so I may be back to normal soon. And I sold the Ninja in the midst of all that. Down to just the KLR now, but that'll do for this summer.

Welcome back, sounds like a great get-together. Did you sell the Ninja to a visiting relative?
Maybe I can try that with my toyhauler!

Naw... The relatives are all dead-beats! Actually tho'... One of them was interested last year, buying for his son, but the kid off and went to Vietnam for a year. Almost had a bidding war with 4 offers from Kijiji people. Last year the weather was so bad, I got hardly any offers in 2 months. This year, it went on the first weekend to the first guy that showed up. Guess the weatherman must be promising something good!

You need to change your avatar now!
This is a holiday weekend for me, also a busy traveling one traditionally. Not the best time to be on the roads, but will probably take a routine ride on the new bike to test out a few mods (and a few new pieces of riding gear the wife picked up).
I'll try to stick to the backroads of course.

Oh yeah... Avatar. That's like cutting the umbilical cord though. You can't go back! Maybe time for a generic one like yours! I've already gone through 6 bikes since we've moved to N.S.

Well, mine isn't totally generic. It is a visual representation of my screen name. It is a scan of a UK stamp that one of my friends over there sent me (because it was my screen name)... But yeah, I get your drift.
Hi Eddy... we had a Tornado do one of those when we were in Glencoe in Scotland. I only wished that I had a camera ready.
