Good one Eddy.
I will do my best to brighten things up on the new F-S site.
Looking forward to catching up with as many as we can get back on and meet some new friends as word gets out.

Re: Fingers on Key Boards
So am I rusty. After F-S went down I didn't go on any chat sites at all. didn't even look for any.
I only found and joined up with the DRRiders chat site and OMG!! If it isn't as great as the old F-S as far as banter and the panel looks and works exactly as F-S.
And I found the Dual sport riders club of Saskatchewan

Took me a while to find this, I'm usually online via my phone (got one of them new fangled eye-phones, courtesy of my daughter who passed her old one to me when she upgraded). Need to bookmark it on the phone somehow so I can check you all out on a daily basis.

Katie! I'm really glad you've joined.
I don't have a smartphone - I've got one of the near-indestructible Nokias designed for building sites and hillsides, and I wouldn't have any other phone. It's brilliant. I do, however, do most of my organisation's IT stuff, which includes setting up and personalising Blackberries, and my experience is that they're absolute buggers.

Re: Fingers on Key Boards
When I got the iPhone, I passed my 'indestructible' Nokia on to the Lovely Man but he's managed to just about wreck it. Love the iPhone but am thinking of saving up for an iPad as the screen's bigger (my eyesight isn't what it used to be now I'm a pensioner).
Not that I've ever any spare money, we bought a motorhome last year, took most of my spare brass & running it ain't cheap. Thinking of getting a trailer so we can take a bike away with us. The Bandit & FJR are too heavy to go on the rack that's fitted though the Lovely Man's talking about getting a sc****r as he reckons that would be ok. I'm less keen on that idea ...

Re: Fingers on Key Boards
Have a look at one of these .Hydratrail you can take the big bikes on one of these as there is no weight on the van the weight is carried on the two caster wheels and they do not go as a trailer on the Racket you just go by your overall length , there was a chap with one at Peel castle and one up on the Peel camp site with them one had a Ducati and the other had a new Triumph thunder bird and both were chuffed to bits with them , just had a look and it says it will take bikes up to 250 Kg so it would take the Bandit but not the FJR

Sounds great. Reckon I'll put it on my Christmas wish list. In the meantime, I've been told I have to learn to ride a push bike. Aargh ...

Reckon I'll keep the Lycra for the gym. Have you noticed that Lycra wearing cyclists never look happy? They're either cold or those suits are damned uncomfortable.

Well guy does...term...nuff said
Was asked to cover a mountain bike duty a while ago and the brief we got was
"Well we all go to the top of this plantation which is on a hill...we set off and try to avoid cliffs/sheer drops and trees...then if there's more than one that actually survives and gets to the bottom-well the 1st wins!"
Funny only 2 got to the bottom...the rest found out how unhappy I was with them all cluttering up my ambulance!

Sounds like somebody missed the opportunity to go down the hill slow and still get a podium!

Re: Fingers on Key Boards
using your very best bedside manner , GT like when riders fall of on my corner once I see the eyes are open and they are drawing breath on there own they get told in no uncertain way that they have c---ked up and committed a cardinal sin they have made work for ME !!! filling out reports just cos they cant ride a bl--dy bike with out falling off ???? and they look at you wanting sympathy and get told next corner down if thats what they want NOT ON MY CORNER , don't often get repeat visitors wonder why ??gary the nurse wrote:Well guy does...term...nuff said

Re: Fingers on Key Boards
We played our first ball game tonight.
We lost 19-1 but we had fun and had some laughs.
We got a huge dump of snow over night Monday/Tuesday. 20 cm of snow and it was minus 15celsius this morning.
Rain on Friday and then hi of 18celsius Saturday I'm going to Calgary on Friday to collect my 2013 Suzuki DR650 whoop whoop.

On your way over to Calgary, tell the Canadian Rockies (the mountains, not the sports team) "hello" and that I hope to see them again someday...

Re: Fingers on Key Boards
Lol steady-yep I'm the same-if someone bounces and they're alive and awake and orientated (slight alteration to the alert awake orientated assessment I normally do for work) then they usually get a good ticking off from me for ruining my nice sit down watching the racing...nowt should ever interrupt that lol
